Meera received her BA in sociology and psychology and MA in sociology from Ewha Womans University, Seoul, South Korea. To date, Meera’s research has focused on investigating family life and moral culture in Korea. At Yale, Meera is continuing this work by investigating classed experience in family and neighborhood settings that affect children’s social/cognitive/emotional development, educational attainment and well-being. Additionally, she studies how the cultural meanings, beliefs and values of parenting shape parent-child relationships and the associated outcomes.
